Bologna, July 4, 2025 – The case of the 'black patrols' organized by Bulaggna – The Patriots' Network continues to be a topic of discussion. Wednesday evening's "Walk for safety" complete with "Felsinean education" T-shirts and a skull and crossbones reminiscent of the German SS symbol in Piazza Medaglie d'Oro , the station and surrounding areas, yesterday infuriated PD deputy Andrea De Maria who condemned the episode 'without ifs and buts': "These are images that embitter and worry, in Bologna, the city of the Gold Medal of the Resistance, and in particular in that place, the Bologna station, dramatically engraved in the memory of the country. The safety of citizens is guaranteed by the police. 'Patrols' like these are evidently a cause of insecurity and alarm. I hope that the competent authorities will guarantee full respect for the law and the safety of public and sensitive places in the face of episodes like this".
The words of the Patriots NetworkWords that did not go down well with the Rete dei Patrioti who, this morning, through the provincial spokesperson Stefano Colato, counter-replied: "It is a real obsession that of the honorable De Maria for our walks. It is not in fact the first time that the deputy of the Democratic Party attacks us for our 'walks' making us think that probably his role in politics is this, given that he is not known for other motivations. His attacks are the clear demonstration of the total lack of arguments of the current Italian left that lives exclusively on anti-fascism. Instead, it is nice to read the comments of so many people who are aligned with us".
The clash with De MariaFor Colato, "the people of Bologna are tired, exhausted, of not being able to walk around their city without risking having to witness or be involved in the daily acts of violence that occur in the station area and, we feel sorry for De Maria, they are much more worried about letting their daughter go out at night than about a skull on a t-shirt". From here, the spokesperson for the 'black patrols' warns the left and the opposition: "Our walks will continue, the citizens of Bologna are asking us to, we have been doing them for years and never and I repeat never has an episode of violence occurred, for us, doing politics means providing a service to the citizens of Bologna, for you only a handful of votes".
Dem Di Stasi on the attackThe provincial secretary of the Democratic Party, Enrico Di Stasi, also intervenes on the issue, concerned "by an extreme right-wing organization that, without any authority and without anyone having assigned it any task, has replaced the police forces". From here, the Democrat insists: "This organization is not new to attempts to poison the climate of peaceful and serene coexistence in Bologna and continues to offend the Bolognese community with attitudes and behaviors that clearly recall fascism, creating discomfort and alarm in our city which is a Gold Medal of the Resistance and is inspired, on the contrary, by values of hospitality, tolerance and democracy". From here, Di Stasi recalls November 2024, “when the Patriots’ Network claimed to organize a protest near Bologna station, offending and disrespecting the site of the most serious fascist attack in the history of the Republic and the victims of the massacre of August 2, 1980. On that occasion, the city, the administration and politics reacted firmly and are ready to do so whenever organizations of this type create alarm and insecurity, hindering the work of the police, the only ones authorized to maintain order and security in the city. The symbols they flaunted, such as the skull and crossbones, emblem of the Nazi SS, or the words 'Educazione felsinea', clearly recall a repugnant and shameful past of blind violence and infamous authoritarianism, to defeat which so many people gave their lives”. In short, the Democrat concludes , "we will not stand by and watch while our city is wounded and threatened by nostalgics of the Ventennio who have no citizenship here."
The Police HeadquartersMeanwhile, the Police Headquarters communicates that the Digos was aware of the initiative of the Patriots Network and monitored the 'walk'. The protagonists of the patrol, without banners and without shouting slogans, were nevertheless identified by the police forces present on site. The group was composed of about ten people.
